Maria Elena Arias was born in Havana, Cuba and migrated with her parents in June of 1962 seeking political asylum. She grew up in Miami and graduated from Notre Dame Academy and sought a Paralegal Certificate from Florida International University. Maria Elena was the Head Paralegal in charge of the Real Estate Department for a large law firm in Miami for ten years before she decided to open her first title company with Builders, HG Land Development in 1988 and then expanded in 1995 with her own title company, Colonial Guaranty & Title Inc. They are a statewide and national title insurance company. Educating real estate professionals has become her passion. She is involved with many different organizations and enjoys giving of her time to empower the real estate professionals through multiple industry related seminars.
